India’s ranking in the 2024 Global Hunger Index (GHI) highlights a persistent challenge in addressing hunger and malnutrition. The GHI, which evaluates hunger levels across 127 countries, places India at 105th position with a score of 27.3, categorising it under the ‘serious’ range. This ranking not only underscores India’s struggle with hunger but also reveals significant disparities compared to its South Asian neighbours.
